Hi, I'm Cheyenne. Not only am I a professional photographer, I'm also a life coach. I have a Bachelor's in Business Management from Texas Wesleyan University and a Master's in Psychology from The University of Phoenix. Applying the art of coaching and psychology to my photography business has made a tremendous impact on the overall quality of the photo session, especially when working with clients who are experiencing their first ever photo shoot.
While in undergrad in 2004, I had a slight interest in modeling, but swiftly had a change of heart when I saw the start-up cost for a modeling portfolio. For a broke college student, it simply wasn't feasible (for me) at the time, so I decided to go on a different path... photography. While researching photographers, I realized that I too could create quality images and help bring out the best in people through the art of photography. I borrowed a digital camera from a friend on campus and immediately started photographing any student, athlete and also family members/friends who would let me.
This approach led to me diversifying my portfolio and meeting lots of new people, landing a photographer position for the school newspaper, taking film photography courses and interning for NYC photographers like River Clark and Jill Lotenberg who were not only great mentors who showed me the artistic side, but also the business side of photography.
What I enjoy shooting the most is head shots, beauty shots and portrait photography. In these types of shots, it's all about the stories that can be told with the eyes. As a photographer, I'm faced with the challenge of bringing out the most interesting moods, expressions and feelings I can from my subjects. Accomplishing this goal and seeing the looks of joy on my clients faces when they see themselves and how beautiful they are makes it all worth it for me.
I'm also a proud father who has had the joy and pleasure of photographing my handsome son for the past 14 years and I enjoyed every minute of it.
